Nitrogen 1.5 Released

So it’s been in development for literally years now, but Nitrogen 1.5 is and has been stable a while, so now I’ve dropped a 1.5 release. You’ll see some new stuff immediately like an icon view mode, zoom fill set mode, and a background “library” in the preferences. Check it out!

Nitrogen 1.3 released!

After hearing only positive things from the RC, Nitrogen 1.3 has been released! You can grab it from here: http://projects.l3ib.org/nitrogen/files/nitrogen-1.3.tar.gz

This release improves performance and memory usage by only loading thumbnails visible to the view. It also fixes some compilation problems on some architectures regarding inotify.

I will be pinging package maintainers to update their packages.

I put a tarball together for what could be 1.3 for Nitrogen. No new features, but a performance tweak that loads thumbnails only when they come into view, which should save a lot of memory (rather than just loading them all at once). Please try it out and leave a comment as to whether it crashes or does something funky related to that. If things seem good 1.3 will be out by next week.

Nitrogen 1.1 released

Thanks to a very patient Lars Kinn Ekroll who helped us do some remote gdb action, we were able to track down the crashing bugs that people have reported. We released nitrogen version 1.1 tonight. Please try it out, hopefully we didn’t mess it up too much.
